Hello fellow Greenview Symphonic Band Members.

Are you proud of our Bronze achievement for this year's Singapore Youth Festival?
I personally think that we should be really proud of ourselves.

We started of as strangers, not knowing anyone (maybe some) from the Symphonic Band.
Thereafter, we started to know each other slowly. We practised hard together, played hard together, and bonded well together.
Slowly, the Singapore Youth Festival have already arrived.
With a common goal of excelling well for it, we practised hard for our pieces, to get what we want to achieve at the end of the day.

Don't you think it is amazing? We have started from strangers, to Band members, and finally building strong bonds with one another. And the other amazing thing is, what is pulling us together, is the passion we have to create good music together.

So, if you are disappointed about our achievement for this year's Singapore Youth Festival, think again. What we have gone through as a Symphonic Band, the time we spent, the amount of effort we put in, the fun and joy we had during practises, the great moments we have created , are things that cannot be achieved easily and by oneself. It was every one's concerted effort put in all together.

This may be the end of 2009's Singapore Youth Festival, but it is a new beginning as well. People say, for every ending, there is a new beginning. So why not do our best for the Symphonic Band now?

Let's work hard together for every practise, and play our best for every performance from now on. Although the Secondary 3's are not taking part in the next Singapore Youth Festival, I hope that we can still have a common aim - which is to improve in our playing, and give out our best. Since the Secondary 4's have already stepped down, we should work even harder to maintain our standards, shouldn't we? :) Moreover, we should be role models for our Juniors, so that they can pick from us, and learn the correct way, right?

We should look out for one another, correct any mistakes if any, work towards being a Symphonic Band, that is ever improving. I know it is something that can be easily said but not easily done, but I really hope that everyone can try. No harm trying, right? :)

And as for the Senior Band Members, let's help the Secondary 1 on the starting journey alright? As beginners, they have lots of things to learn, like how to play their instrument correctly, how to maintain it well, how to play it with a good tone, ...

Let's help them through all these, so we can improve faster as a Symphonic Band, okay? With all the effort we can put in to help one another, I strongly believe we can improve at a faster rate. Let's do our best, play our best, and strive for the best! Excellence through equilibrium :)

HEYO BAND!

Its like only 4 days left to SYF already!!!!

Lets buck up and do our best for the next few days.

Please do not be late when you come for morning practice.

Lets just say you should come so that you would

realise that we do sound really flat in the morning.

Seniors remember to do a wake up call on the actual day itself

so that no one would be late on the actualy day itself.

Sports day heat people

People participating in the 200m heats please come back after

the heat is done.

For Other events(exlcuding 4x4oom) your heats has been postpone

and will be done in school until further notice by Mr Azarizal.

4x400m people please try your best to find a replacement

due to the fact that tuesday practice ends at 4pm tml.

Band this is the final lap already lets go for it

and achieve whatever you think we can achieve!

Our SYF date is on 3rd april 2009 @ 8.15am
We will be the first band to start off, so,
means there won't be any lessons on that day.
I hope on that day all of you will play your best.

Heyo band,

its been a long time since we actually blog about something.

First thing first. SYF is coming soon, lets all work hard
and achieve what we really one alright. Be it whatever medal
lets just put in our efforts and strive towards it.

Second I know every one's been busy studying but please tell
or remind your SLs that you have remedial or tests on the day
of band practice, so that we can tell Ms Yip where are you.

Last of all. Please also do come for practice regularly and try
not be late for practices anymore. In a month time we will be
having syf already so best if you do not absent yourself for no reason.

Hello band!

Please come @ 8.30am for this coming practice on wednesday
Please bring water bottles as we will be having marching and
also remember to bring $1 for the band outing to sentosa .
The $1 is for the admission fee to go in there ! so please bring it !

Please memorise Spartans of tomorrow for those who have not memorised yet ! :D !

As for the Band outing !
Please bring extra change of clothes as you might probably get
wet during the games or whatever .
You guys are encouraged to wear clothes of your group colour
OR even something that have your group colour on it :]

AND
ALSO
Bring your own food! as we will be having picnic
You guys will also have to share your food with your
group members :D
SO, make sure that the food are edible to all ! :D

SO , Please do not come late for the next practice
and continue to work hard for the upcoming SYF 09! :D

Hi band ,

It has been a long time since we post any blogs . As for last practice the top three leaders have been announced and they are Diyana holding the pose of Band Major , Alex and Aqilah holding the pose of Drum Majors and ME for the pose of secretary . I hope you guys give the most cooperation to the Band and Drum Majors so they would have less problems doing thier job. As for me , come for your practice regularly and inform me or the teachers in-charge if you all would'nt be able to come for Band. It would really help me and the teachers alot. So I hope you all are happy with the current Band major and Drum majors.
As for tommorow, there will be no band as there is a sports carnival for the whole school. I know you guys knew about it already and not to forget tmr is Aqiela's birthday , so , on the behalf of the whole band HAPPY ADVANCE BIRTHDAY AQILAH (:

Anyways couple of things to remember.
1) Seniors you have a date with the qm
You have to return all mouthpieces you borrowed
all everything that comes from your instrument.
You can keep your reeds. Like signing in your instrument
BUT the date isn't confirm but we are just telling you 1st

2)Reports.
We know you guys hate it but its a must.
SLs have to collect your members report.
Something like that.
Everyone has to do the CCC and Whiteman Park report
the rest is divided into section.

Thats all for the reminders!

Reminders

For this Wed's Stock Check and Practice.

Seniors(Leaders or whichever senior) who are coming back fr it, you may wanna bring your uniform and blazers back
Make sure your blazers are washed already before sending it back.
Try not to be late for the stock check as it starts at 2pm or so.
For juniors remember its 30mins earlier

For this Thurs practice

Seniors(sec 2 to 3) and juniors dun be late for practice please come 30mins early
You may wanna bring your uniform and blazers back too.

To all the seniors who when Perth there is a report to submit.
Its a report about the different places you went.

CORPUS Christi College Everyone has to do it.
Orchard Glory farm would be the Flutes including Oboe and Bassoon
Yanchep Limestone cave should be the Clarinets and Bass Clarinet
Fremantle would be Saxophone, Baritone Sax and French Horn
King Albert Park would be the Trumpets.
Caversham life Park would be Trombones, Euphoniums and Basses
Morish Nuts would be the Percussion

Yup yup remember to do it up, if i miss out any section please tag us about it

Though this blog is new, I thought of doing something.
Which is posting Tons of Reminders here.
Next week is when all the practices start and this is a reminder to ALL.

Remember that you have to come 30mins for every band practise.
11th june, 2pm to 5pm (Please have lunch)
Practice for Sec 1s attendance will be taken.
Leaders from each section must come too for an important stock check.

12th june 9am to 1pm (Please have breakfast)
Practice for Sec 1s to Sec 3s

17th june 9am to 1pm (Please have breakfast)
Practice for Sec 1s to Sec 3s

18th june 2pm to 5pm (Please have lunch)
Practice for Sec 1s to Sec 3s

19th june 9am to 1pm (Please have breakfast)
Practice for Sec 1s to Sec 3s

Strictly come for all practices. There shouldn't be any absentees.
I don't want to see anybody not coming for a valid reason.
Unless its a funeral or other special reasons.
Remember to tell your SLs that you ain't coming for practice, so that it will make your secretary's life easier. So thanks.

AND DON'T BE LATE FOR ANY PRACTICES.
